Arden is On Her Way!

Well, it has been a whirlwind! Six weeks to the day from getting her call to entering the MTC.  Here are our pictures as we get ready to take her to Provo.  We had a steak dinner last night (yes, I grilled in February!), and a big pancake breakfast this morning.  Gabe was basically glued to Arden for most of the morning, except when he was playing his computer game.

We arrived in Provo just a bit early, so we drove up to the Provo Temple grounds and got out to take some more pictures.  The sun was really warm, but the wind was really cold!  Arden had packed her coat, so she was a bit on the chilly side.

One last time playing in the snow together. . . .

Around 1:00 we drove down to the MTC and followed a long line of cars dropping off missionaries.  John was able to get out and help her with her luggage and give one last hug.  And then she was off.  Gabe was pretty quiet for awhile as we decided to go to the University Mall for a little while.  When we got out, it was quite evident that he had been crying.  That about set us all off in tears.  We tried to laugh with Gabe a bit, but we are all going to miss her greatly.  Gabe came home and wrote her a little letter already that tells her how much he is going to miss her and that he will never forget her. "Love, your sad little brother, Gabe."

GOOD LUCK AND MAY THE LORD BLESS ARDEN!

We will send the mission address when she leaves the MTC.

Now for just a bit of randomness.  Last fall I came home from school and could see some unusual movements in the tree next door.  This is what we found. . . .
This little woodpecker was just going to town drilling out this perfectly round little hole in the tree.

We haven't seen it since, so we don't know if it spent the winter there or not, but we will be watching for it this Spring.

And then there was Ninja.
In other news:  Gabe won his pinewood derby with lots (LOTS) of help (building it for us, basically) from his Uncle Norman.  Thanks, Norman!  The pictures from that are on John's phone.  He'll have to download those.
