The roses have been gorgeous this season -- again. John just has the right touch! The trellis is covered as well as all the other individual bushes. It's very colorful!
This is the climatis. 
Gabe had his first piano recital in June. (June 12th). He did a great job! At the end of the blog is a video of one of his duets with his teacher. I couldn't get it to be where I wanted it, so it's at the end.
One day, John and Gabe went shoe shopping and came home with a t-ball set with practice balls, a new mitt and two real baseballs. Gabe has had a lot of fun practicing with them. We even took the set to the park one day and found someone there who wanted to play with him. His form isn't too bad. He just needs to practice more!
We tried to go up to Moss Ledge on July 5th, but everyone else was there, too. So, last Saturday, we packed up our hamburger "stuff" and headed up. Even then, we were lucky to get one of the sites: and that one was the one with the spring running right through it. Anyway, we took a hike up the mountain, and even I went with them! It was fun! I'm really slow, because I'm so unsure of my steps, but I made it. The scary part was when we were coming down and someone up above us must have dislodged some rocks. They came crashing down, and I really thought we were going to be hit! They were the size of bowling balls! And as they hit the sides of the canyon, they sounded like bowling balls, too! Gabe was already down, but John and I just had to plaster ourselves against the walls and hope they wouldn't hit us. They didn't! Whew!!!!!
Gabe found a large flat rock and wanted to break it up. So, he pounded it against another rock. Fun -- I guess.
This past Saturday Gabe was in the Days of '47 Youth Parade. Our Stake had a float in it with all the primary kids following behind. They walked from Trolley Square down to the City/County building.
This is only part of the group behind the float, mostly our ward. There were over 200 kids and adults in the group.
At the carnival at the parade's end, I ran into a friend of mine from the choir John and I used to sing in. This little girl is only 1 month older than Gabe. Look how tall she is!!!
Gabe went down a couple of the big blow-up slides. It was too hot to stay any longer than that!

Great job on the piano Gabe!
What a happy handsome boy he is. I can't believe how fast they grow up. I was just looking at his picture and imagining what he will look like as a teenager. Can't think about that yet. See you on the weekend.
My goodness, Gabe sure is growing up. The roses look so beautiful and it looks like you guys are having a great summer.
