Arden's Graduation

Just a few pictures of one of our 3 graduates this year. Arden Elizabeth Jorgensen graduated from Olympus High School on the 2nd of June 2011.

There were close to 400 students down on that floor!
Can you see Arden? I wish I had one of those arrows to point her out. I was quite upset at the camera when it came to her getting her diploma. Just as she got to the point where they were taking pictures, I snapped the perfect shot -- the the camera shut off! So, these are the best I got, AFTER she came down from the stand.

About 2 weeks before school graduation was Seminary Graduation. Here's Arden with President Young, Bishop Colby and her dad.

Arden was utilized quite well that evening. She played the piano for the hymns and prelude/postlude music, and she sang alto in a quartet that Sis. Blunt only had a week to put together for this. Arden did a grrrrrreat job!

Here is just a bit of randomness. These flowers are in our wild-flower space in the back. They were really pretty this year.

This is Shelley's strawberry cake recipe. I tried it one weekend, and Grandma liked it so much she requested it for her birthday. So, here it is. Beautiful -- and delicious!

Gabriel's Birthday and Baptism Weekend

Gabriel is 8! And what a weekend it has been! He got several big presents, the first being this new bike! He also got his first set of scriptures with his name embossed on them.

We couldn't believe the crowd on Saturday at the baptism! I knew there would be quite a few people, but I didn't really expect as many as were there. Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!!! And, THANKS to all who helped out in the kitchen afterwards. Even though it wasn't in the building I had planned, I think it worked out better this way, anyway. (In spite of the burnt meatballs!)

Here are just a few pictures of friends and lots of family that made it to the baptism on Saturday.

Bishop Orrin T. Colby is one of the best bishops!

Now come the silly pictures --

The best of the family group pictures:

This is the Spigarelli group: Aunt Patty and Craig, Steven and Tressa, and Adam and Becca(sp?) and all their kids. Thank you so much for being there!

And now the Jorgensens: Shelley, Lizzy, Jenny, Sara, Josh and Stacy, Morgan, and the myriad of cousins all in one place! Wow!

And the Pieps: Brent and Julie, Michael, Kristina, Teresa, Stacy and their crews. Thank you for being there.

More silliness -- For more pictures here, look at Madison's Facebook page. There are more funny ones to be seen there, too.

We tried to take a few pictures of the decadent sweet rolls as we made them. However, when it was all done, I was too tired to remember to take pictures of the finished product! They weren't perfect, but they did taste good! Anyway, the bottom was covered with the caramel sauce and then covered with pecans. (I didn't picture the pecans).

I used my pulla recipe for the dough, but any sweet roll dough would work. The filling was brown sugar, butter, cinnamon and a bit of ginger.
